King of the Road

Yesterday Tom and I rather spontaneously entered Phase II of our collective mid-life crisis.

We got a new bike.

We used to ride, then we stopped - for reasons that don't seem so important anymore.

Yesterday, for Father's Day, we headed to the dealership and signed the papers on a new to us Harley.

Gorgeous, no?

She is so like us.

With the tour pack and windshield on, she is really quite practical.

Off, and she is so damn badass.

We rode around a little today - just getting a feel for it again.

It came back like - um - well - like riding a bike.

As we put her in the garage I made a connection I hadn't made at the dealership: She is exactly the same color as my first bicycle. My Schwinn Fair Lady with the white sparkly banana seat.

Coincidence?

Probably. But still...

DAMN! That bike is sweeeet. You two are going to have some serious fun on that thing, aren't you? Just so you know, my huge crush on you just quadrupled 'cause you're one hot biker mama!

Happy "Father's Day" (what an awesome excuse...)

As I was doing the obligatory prostituting of my comment wit all around te SITSterhood my mind was here - looking at this bike.
SO EXCITING!
It didn't help that the FB was dull, that I checked five other bloggers who were similarly dull, leaving me with comment constipation.

"I gotta get over to Tammy's to see the new Harley!!" is what I shoud have said.

Cool. Cool. Cool.

Are we having a mid-life crisis?
Any suggestions? I need something without payments.
Is it time for grannie panties yet, or is it standard practice to go in the opposite direction before seeking total comfort?
Should I find the Harley Davidson of undies?

Yea, that'd be a start.

Niiice! Good for you. Enjoy it. I had a bike just like that when I was a kid. Mine was aqua blue (I definitely like red better). I hadn't thought about that bike in ages. Yesterday we saw a similar style bike in someone's driveway and Geoff and i commented on it. And now you're posting pictures and talking about yours. Very weird.

WOW! That was some Father's Day! Congrats! She is a beaut! Hubs wants a bike so bad, but, well, it's just not in the cards right now. I am not a bike rider. In college one of my guy friends took me for a ride on his and I was screaming at him to slow down and he's like, "Gibby, I'm doing 25 MPH." What a dork I am.

(Love that your new bike looks like your old one, too funny! I had a bike just like that, but green. Banana seats and monkey handlebars were the best.)

Okay, so mine was a huffy, and it was yellow. I wonder what was up with the long banana seats and why in the hell don't they make bikes with banana seats anymore? You know, those new bike seats just end up riding up your crotch...ooohhh...so that's why...

Nice bike. Very nice bike. Really nice bike. This one is yours right? When are you going to make him go and buy his own? Tammy, this is so much better than cleaning house...

This is..."cleaning" house.

Nice! Paul's got a Kawasaki Vulcan with a very similiar paint job. He just got back from Laconia a few days ago. I've been riding since I was 14 but haven't had my own ride in years. Good luck with it! Ride safe.

That is NICE! How fun for you two : )

The bad news is that you're going to have a beast of a time topping this one come next year.... Way to set the bar high, Tammy!

Ooooooh pretty bike!!

And yes, Kindles seem so neat but unfortunately I am broke as a joke so the paper kind seem the more economical way to go :/

Oh well! :)

Niiiiiiiice! Who said a midlife crisis couldn't be fun? Will you get a matching bike for Mother's Day? I must know...
